Summer Season Open Rehearsals
During July and August, the WCCB welcomes high school students, fellow community band members and any musicians (who play concert band instruments) who are looking for an opportunity to continue playing in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
All rehearsals will be held Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Westshore Masonic Centre, 2832 Bryn Maur Road, Langford. The venue has on site parking and is close to bus routes 38, 46, 51X, 52 and 99.
WCCB Summer Rehearsal Check List:
- Let us know which weeks you plan to attend by signing up at this calendar or emailing us with your name and instrument(s).
- Bring your own instrument.
- Bring your own music stand.
- Ensure you are healthy! We have a number of older and immune-compromised members, so attend rehearsals only if you are feeling well. If you arrive ill, you will be asked to leave.
- Students: Bring your 2025/2026 student ID to rehearsals.
Summer Drop-in Fees
Adults: $10 per rehearsal
This fee goes directly towards providing music and covering the rental space. Payment may be made by: cash, e-transfer or tap debit (see the conductor who will send you to the correct person).
High School Students and Recent Graduates: Free*
Graduating high school band students and current high school students are especially welcome to attend WCCB summer rehearsals. *Students who present valid 2025/2026 student ID may attend July and August rehearsals free of charge.
Substitution List
Join the WCCB Concert Sub List
As all musicians know, due to scheduling conflicts or illness bands occasionally require a few players to sit in to cover missing parts or fill out a section. We invite players who might not be able to commit as a regular member of the band, but who would be comfortable sitting in for the dress rehearsal and concert, to add themselves to our sub list. When concert dates are set we will email you to let you know of the date and check your availability. Sections that most often need subs are clarinet, trumpet and percussion. If you’d like to be added to the sub list, please contact us.
