Membership Application
Because some of our sections may be full already, please do not just show up without first contacting us at info@westshoreband.org. That will also allow us to ensure there is music available for your instrument.
Returning members and new applicants for membership may access a PDF version of the updated 2025-2026 Membership Application Form to complete. The form contains fill-in fields — just tab through the document, filling in the appropriate spaces, print it and bring it to registration (or the first rehearsal you attend, if you miss registration). Please note that there is a second page to the form.
Here is the 2025-2026 Information Letter that includes essential information in one place.
Membership Dues
Dues for the 2025-2026 season are $200 for all players, payable within two weeks of joining the Band. A prospective member must pay a drop-in fee of $10 per session until they determine if the Band is a good fit for them. If the person commits to joining the band, the drop-in fee(s) will be credited toward the full amount.
Players may opt to pay for one semester at a time: September to December ($80); January to August ($120).
Dues may be paid by cash, cheque or e-transfer; they may also be paid by credit or debit card, but the amount of the processing fee will be added to the amount of the dues. Discuss special circumstances with the Treasurer.
Equipment
Members MUST bring their own music stands to rehearsals and performances. Brass players should also be equipped with a small towel or cloth to absorb condensation from their instruments (we must leave the vinyl tile floor clean at the end of each rehearsal). This season, rehearsals will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a 15-minute intermission. Members should arrive in sufficient time to set up before the rehearsal begins.
Member Expectations
Members are expected to assist with setting up and putting away chairs and the conductor's podium and helping other players as needed.
